MCDERMOTT, JOANN ELEANOR (NEE KOEGEL), passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Robert T. McDermott and the late Stephen P. Heekin Sr. ’46. Devoted mother of Karen (Tom) Cassady ’72, Steve (Mary Jo) Heekin Jr., Tina (Tom) Walter, Amy Heekin (Gary Gleason), Tony (Joan) Heekin, Greg Heekin, all of Cincinnati and Lisa Milhoan of Jacksonville, FL. Loving grandmother to 18, including Aaron Heekin ’13 and Joseph Heekin ’07 and great grandmother to 6. JoAnn was preceded in death by daughter Theresa H. Murrie, son Mathew D. Heekin, brother Frank A. Koegel, sister Margaret K. Carlsen. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. JoAnn was a woman of strong faith who sought to learn more about her Catholic Religion and share that knowledge with others. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 12 at 10:30 AM at Guardian Angels Church, 6539 Beechmont Ave., 45230. Visitation in church from 9:30 AM until time of Mass.
