PARENT OF ALUM

GERHARDT, CHARLES H. JR., age 83, of Lebanon passed away peacefully on December 16, 2015. He was born on November 7, 1932, in Ft. Leavenworth, KS, to Major General Charles H. and Nina Gerhardt. Charlie is survived by Sharon Langefeld, his companion of 35 years and her daughter, Michelle; daughter Cathy (Guy) DeDiemar; sons Chip (Jane) ‘78, Jeb (Laura) and Rob (Anne) Gerhardt ‘82; grandchildren Mac, Will, Emily, Sarah, Charlie ‘12, Anne and Hank Gerhardt ‘17; his sister Nina Kennedy and many nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of the Hill School and Duke University (1955), and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Charlie was a well known and well liked resident of Lebanon for many years. An avid collector and nationally renowned expert, he owned a gallery specializing in African, Chinese and American Indian tribal art and textiles. Charlie also enjoyed countless miles over many years hiking the Appalachian Trail with friends and family. He financially supported many veterans and Navajo textile weavers. Family and friends are invited to join us on Sunday, January 10, 2016, at the Stine-Kilburn Funeral Home, 801 Monroe Rd., Lebanon, OH 45036, for a visitation from 3:00-5:00 PM followed by a memorial service from 5:00-6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Queen City Hospice, 4055 Executive Park Dr., Suite 240, Cincinnati, OH 45241 and Toadlena Weavers Flour Fund with checks payable to Toadlena Trading Post, P.O.
