STEINMETZ, GEORGE H., husband of the late Doris M. Steinmetz (nee Janzen). Father of Greg (Kimberly) Steinmetz, Mary (Jerry) Trauth, and Dan (Tracy) Steinmetz. Grandfather of Maria, George, and Anne Steinmetz, Alex Trauth ’08 and Audrey Trauth, and Elizabeth and Isabel Steinmetz. Brother of Betsy (Jewl) Jacovson, Robert (Ada) Steinmetz, Rita (Paul) Lavanier, Theresa (Jim) Bechtol, and Barbara Steinmetz. He was a veteran of the 314th Bomb Squadron in the Pacific during WWII. George, a resident of Union Township, passed away on January 11, 2016 at the age of 93. Visitation will be held on Thursday January 14, 2016 from 10:30AM until 11:30AM at St. Thomas More Church in Withamsville. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30AM. Interment at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Special Olympics or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital . E.C. Nurre Funeral Home (Amelia) serving the family.
