FISCHER, ROBERT FRANCES ‘44, 89, of Roswell, GA, formerly of Gulf Shores, AL Beloved husband of 55 years of the late Kathleen A. (nee Glenn); loving father of Michael Fischer of Juneau, AK, Mary Beth Pearson (Barry) of Marietta, GA, Jayne Hettenbaugh (Greg) of Randolph, N.Y., Paula Will (Carl) of Aurora, OH, Kathleen Reilley (Kevin) of Fairview Park, OH, and Mark Fischer of Denver, NC. Robert was blessed with twelve grandchildren: Billy Fischer, Katie Bowen (Frank), Matt Pearson (Shannon), Tim Hettenbaugh, Kaylee Hettenbaugh, Anna Will (affianced to Luke Raper), Jessica Will, David Will, Daniel Reilley, Robert Reilley, Kathlyn Reilley and Hamilton Fischer. Robert was truly blessed with three great grandchildren: Mason, Elizabeth and Frank C. Bowen V. Another great grandson is arriving in June. Robert is survived by his brother, Donald Fischer ‘47 (Pat); sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Becconsall (Dick); three brother-in-laws: Jim Glenn (deceased Mary), Tom Glenn (Blanche) and the late Terry Glenn (Dianne). He was a special uncle to many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Anna. He was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. and graduated from St. Xavier High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. Robert was a radar/sonar/radio operator. He obtained a Bachelor's in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the University of Detroit, and a Master's in Business Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati. Robert had a successful 42 year career in manufacturing with the Gruen Watch Company, Hartmann Luggage, TRW Globe Motors and ending as the Vice President of Operations for the Shop-Vac Corporation. He retired in Gulf Shores, Alabama. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family at the beach and with his friends on the golf course. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. BOEHME, KENNETH W. ‘50, devoted husband of 52 years of Jean Boehme (nee Trischler), loving father of Ken (Cathy) Boehme '83, Karen (Brian) Cromer, Billy (Jean Bohl) ’92 Boehme and cherished grandfather of Alex, Paul, Greg, Brian Kromer ‘17, Kayla, Billy and Mikey. Also survived by many caring relatives and friends. Ken was a Korean War Veteran, former Vice President of Ohio Knife Company, a member of West Point and Air Force Academy Parents Clubs, professional baseball player for the Cincinnati Reds and the New York Yankees, a member of KOM Minor League Hall of Fame, and a longtime Baseball coach for St. Antoninus Parish. GEERS, EDWARD JOSEPH JR. ’62, 71, of Scappoose, Oregon, passed away on December 15, 2015, after a long illness.Edward was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1944 to Edward and Romaine Geers. He grew up there with three brothers (Bill Geers ‘64, Bob, and Joe). Edward graduated from the Alexian Brothers School of Nursing in Chicago followed by the St. Francis School of Anesthesia where he became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, a.k.a. The Gas Man.
Ed married Kyle Ann Larson in 1968. They had two children (Sarah and David) then moved to Florence, Oregon in 1973. Ed worked at PeaceHealth Hospital providing anesthesia for over 30 years. They adopted two more children (Michelle and Christopher) in 1976. In his spare time, he worked and volunteered in a variety of interesting pursuits; commercial fisherman, volunteer fire fighter, gas station attendant, mechanic, and real estate agent. He served on the Siuslaw School Board for over a dozen years.
In retirement Ed moved to Scappoose to be close to his family. He served on the Board at Springlake Park and lived in the Rose Valley community for over five years where he made many good friends. Ed is survived by his brothers, Bill (Maryanne) of Crawfordville, Florida and Joe (Eileen) of Deltona, Florida; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Geers of Charlotte, North Carolina; his children, Sarah (Michael) Havlik of Scappoose, David, Michelle, and Christopher; former wife, Kyle King; beloved grandchildren, Anika and Kevin Havlik; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bob Geers.
A Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Sunday December 20, at 2 p.m., at Hustad Funeral Home, 7232 N Richmond Avenue in Portland. A Funeral Mass and reception will be held on Monday December 21, at 11 a.m., at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, 51555 Old Portland Road in Scappoose. A celebration of life in Florence is planned for May 2015.

Devoted father of John (Mary) Kammerer ‘74, Rick Kammerer ‘76 (Tim Cagle), Doug (Julie) Kammerer ‘78 and Barb (Don) Moon, all of Cincinnati. Cherished grandfather to John Kammerer, Jr ‘10., Christy, Will Kammerer‘10, Joe, Ellie Kammerer, Carolyn and Erin Moon, and Amy Lee. Born February 4, 1924 to Helen M. (Johnson) and Franklin O. Kammerer, Sr. at The Christ Hospital, Cincinnati. Passed away peacefully July 18, 2016 at 92 years old. Clifton School, Hughes High School'42, UC College of Business '50, Sigma Chi Fraternity. WWII Veteran, Navy Air Corps, Radioman First Class. In 1958 he took the bold, entrepreneurial move of starting his own firm of Kammerer Sales Company. Forever proud that his sons John, Doug and daughter Barb joined him in this successful business. In his 92nd year he continued to go into the office and watch over his legacy. For many years an active member of St.Mary parish, Hyde Park, Eastern Hill Tennis Club, Hyde Park Tennis Club. Member of Ryland Lakes Country Club, Ryland Heights, KY, for 31 years. For 19 years he faithfully volunteered at Children's Hospital up to 6 months before his death. He and Mary Helen were blessed with 50 years of marriage. PEREGRIN, ROSIE was born in San Miguel, New Mexico on September 4, 1943. She joined her beloved husband in Heaven on July 15, 2016. Throughout Rosie's life she carried a tremendous will to survive the many challenges life can bring to bear while remaining steadfast in embracing the many joys of being a homemaker, wife, parent and grandparent. Rosie's greatest pride is found within her loving family. Over the years, Rosie spent her time collecting cookbooks and sewing machines and enjoyed refurbishing old hidden treasures like furniture, artwork, and tools. Rosie's passion for independence and curiosity were two of her most memorable strengths. Rosie was predeceased by her devoted husband of nearly 40 years, William C. Peregrin ‘58. She was also predeceased by many brothers and sisters. Rosie is survived by her daughter Lisa Kinney and two grandchildren, Cameron Kinney and Baylee Kinney. BRUVOLD, KATHLEEN P., age 72, passed to the loving arms of God on July 8, 2016. Devoted daughter to Paul and Wanda Parker. Beloved wife of 50 Golden Years to Norman. Loving mother of Kristoffer (Iva) Bruvold ’92 and Erik (Molly) Bruvold ’95. Proud Grandmother of Mia, Leila, Miroslav, Georgi, Filip, and Sofia. Dear sister to Valerie (James) Parker, and late sisters Margaret Ely and Mary (Richard) Cashman. A supportive Aunt to many nieces and nephews, a champion for many, an angel for her family, and a great friend and inspiration for all. Kathleen held degrees from the University of Denver, Purdue University as well as the University of Cincinnati. As an attorney, she served the University of Cincinnati for over 20 years, retiring as Associate General Counsel, and acted as an Assistant Attorney General for the great State of Ohio. Kathleen was also devoted to the community, serving in roles for the United Way and Community Chest. She was actively involved in the National Association of College and University Attorneys, where she steadily increased her responsibilities from participant to presenter to session chair, to national section committee member, to national section chair, to board member and then identified, nominated and helped elect a presiding president of the organization. Most of all Kathleen cherished her family. She also enjoyed skiing, horseback-riding, good food, the arts, music and live entertainment. She found enjoyment in the Bearcats, Reds and Bengals as she meticulously navigated life with a real compassion for others and sense of morality. Her benevolent smile and positive attitude were always uplifting to others. Kathleen leaves behind a legacy of love, caring, kindness, compassion, understanding, strength and hope. A celebration will be held at the Spring Grove Cemetery Reception Center in Cincinnati Ohio starting at 9:30AM on Saturday August 6, 2016. SCAHILL, JOAN C., beloved wife of the late John P. Scahill ’45 and daughter of the late Edward and Ann Ahlers. Passed away on July 19, 2016 at age 86. Sister of Donald (Joan) Ahlers ’47 and the late Carol (Robert) Marck, Step-sister of Phyllis Nordman, loving Aunt to nine nieces and nephews, also survived by a host of friends. She was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati's College of Business Administration and worked as a Financial Analyst for the General Electric Co. for a number of years. She was considered a career woman before that term became fashionable and had the distinction of being the very first woman in all of GE, to be selected for and graduate from, their unique three-year executive financial training program, becoming the first woman in Evendale's finance to be put in management. Upon early retirement from GE, she became very involved as a volunteer at various hospitals and on dozens of fund raiser committees and other philanthropic endeavors. She served on the Board of Xavier University Mardi Gras Committee, Freedom Foundation, Cincinnati Bar Association Auxiliary, Cincinnati Symphony Club, Merriemaker Dance Club and Town Club. She was also Chairman of the Cincinnati's Art Museum Gallery Aides and Volunteer Advisory Council. In addition, Mrs. Scahill was a member of the Cincinnati Women's Club, and the English Speaking Union. Over the years, she and her husband traveled to 60 countries and almost all of the states.
